In one of the deadliest attacks on civilians, a squad of terrorists massacred at least 26 individuals in the afternoon of Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in the Baisaran meadows in the upper reaches of Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, including two foreign visitors.
Since 2019, this is the first significant act of terrorism in the Valley that targets civilians.
The death toll is probably going to increase, and several more people were injured, some of them critically. The attack was attributed to the Resistant Front, a division of the Lashkar-e-Taiba.
As part of the ongoing investigation into the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people—mostly tourists—near Pahalgam in south Kashmir, security agencies today released sketches of three suspected attackers.
According to officials, the males are Abu Talha, Suleman Shah, and Asif Fauji, all of whom are Pakistanis. They were implicated in terror-related acts in Poonch and went by the code names Moosa, Yunus, and Asif.
The sketches, officials said, were prepared with the help of survivors of the Pahalgam terror attack, who provided crucial descriptions of the suspects.

Rajnath Singh Reviews J&K Security After Pahalgam Terror Attack
In the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. China “strongly condemned” the 26-person terror incident that took place in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

In Madhya Pradesh, two people were arrested for posting derogatory content about a terror incident.
According to authorities, two individuals were arrested by the Madhya Pradesh Police in Damoh for allegedly disseminating posts on social media regarding the terror incident in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Abhishek Tiwari, the Damoh Superintendent of Police, City (CSP), the cyber unit has been keeping an eye on social media since the April 22 incident and discovered two tweets that might incite animosity amongst groups and disrupt the tranquility of the area.
The accused, identified as Wasim Khan and Tanveer Qureshi, were booked under Section 196 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Kotwali police station, officials said.

Two Kashmiri men are accused of being among the terrorists who killed tourists in Pakistan in 2018.
A government source told The Hindu that two Kashmiri males are suspected of being part of a squad of four to six armed terrorists who murdered tourists at the Pahalgam meadow in Jammu and Kashmir.
