In 2023, Bhawana Yadav, a 25-year-old medical graduate from Anantpura village in Behror, Rajasthan, returned to India after earning her MBBS degree from the Philippines. With dreams of practicing medicine in her home country, she began intensive preparations for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE)—a mandatory licensure test for Indian and OCI citizens who study medicine abroad. Bhawana enrolled in online coaching programs and traveled to Delhi every week to take preparatory exams, showcasing her dedication to passing the challenging assessment.
She often stayed in the capital with her younger sister, who was preparing for India’s prestigious civil services exam. On April 21 and 22, Bhawana was in Delhi to attend her scheduled tests. On the evening of April 23, she had her last known conversation with her mother, Gayatri Devi, reassuring her that she would return home the next morning. But Bhawana never arrived. Her sudden disappearance has left her family in deep distress and searching for answers.
