Hyderabad: From April 16 to 22, Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy led a group to Japan, where the state signed investment deals worth Rs. 12,062 crore.
“These Telangana Japan investment agreements are expected to generate approximately 30,500 jobs in the state. The delegation, which included senior government officials and industry representatives, engaged with Japanese companies and government bodies to promote industrial and technological collaboration. The Telangana Japan investment collaboration marks a significant step towards strengthening economic ties and fostering innovation between the two regions.”
MoU with Marubeni
One of the important agreements was inked with Marubeni Corporation to establish a Next Generation Industrial Park in Hyderabad’s Future City.
Over 30,000 employment are anticipated to be created by the project, which would start with an initial investment of Rs. 1,000 crore and grow to Rs. 5,000 crore.
Pacts with NTT Data and NISA: Strengthening Telangana Japan Investment Collaboration

With a pledged investment of Rs. 10,500 crore, Telangana recently inked deals with NTT Data and NISA to build an AI data center cluster in Hyderabad.
Toshiba Transmission Distribution Systems India (TTDI) will also invest Rs. 562 crore to establish a factory in Rudraram that will manufacture electrical equipment.
The delegation facilitated employment opportunities for 500 Telangana youths in Japan through agreements with Japanese companies, Turn and Raj Groups.
“Discussions with Hiroshima Prefecture Officials: Enhancing Telangana Japan Investment Ties”
Discussing bilateral collaboration in clean technology, waste-to-energy projects, urban innovation, water treatment, and disaster management, the delegation met with Hiroshima Prefecture authorities, including Deputy Governor Mika Yokota, during the visit.
To improve sustainable growth, Telangana suggested partnerships in smart infrastructure, automobile mobility corridors, and renewable energy.
The team also visited Hiroshima and Kitakyushu to study sustainable urban development models. Telangana signed memoranda of understanding with EX Research Institute and Nippon Steel Engineering to develop eco-friendly urban projects, including an Eco Town in Hyderabad.
Hyderabad-Kitakyushu air connectivity
To increase employability possibilities in Japan, plans were put forth to build a Japanese language training facility in Hyderabad and to develop direct air connectivity between Hyderabad and Kitakyushu.
Securing foreign funding for infrastructure projects aimed at making Hyderabad a global city was the main focus of meetings with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Sony’s Tokyo headquarters.
It is anticipated that these interactions will improve business relations and draw in more capital.
