Operation Abhyaas Mock Drill: 7 Vital Safety Steps for Hyderabad’s Emergency Response

The Operation Abhyaas mock drill will be conducted in the city within ORR. A total of 12 civil defence services will largely undertake the drill.

Hyderabad is prepared to host “Operation Abhyaas mock drill ” on May 7 from 4 to 4.30 p.m. as part of the Civil Defense Mock Drill. The city inside ORR will host the simulated exercise. The practice will be conducted primarily by 12 civil defense services.

In accordance with the Ministry of Home Affairs’ directives, 244 districts that have been recognized as susceptible will participate in a nationwide mock drill.

Activities for Operation Abhyaas mock drill

Sirens are turned on throughout the city (inside ORR).

Industrial sirens, police mikes at intersections and other locations, patrol cars, fire sirens, etc. may all be activated via the Integrated Command Control Center (ICCC).

The police, fire, medical, and industrial departments should make sure that the sirens are turned on for two minutes across the entire city.

Public and Volunteer Action

It is essential to respond calmly and swiftly.

Seek Shelter Right Away: Avoid open spaces and locate a solid structure or subterranean shelter.

Keep yourself updated and informed by official sources, such as government applications, TV, and radio.

Steer clear of rumors and don’t trust unreliable sources.

Switch Off Utilities: If you’re at home, switch off gas, electricity, and open fires like fireplaces and stoves.

Stay Put Until Safe: Remain in your refuge until the authorities deem the situation to be no longer dangerous.

Find a low-lying spot, lie down, and protect your head if you are outside without any nearby shelter. Keep yourself as safe as you can.

At 4:15 p.m.

The ICCC will notify Civil Defense services on the effects of the air raid in four distinct parts of the city.

In order for other services to arrive promptly, police must clear the scene, cordon off, manage crowds, transfer injured people, and evacuate the general public to safe havens.

Volunteers and Civil Defense Wardens will notify the fire department and rescue services of any damages and missing individuals.

Search and rescue activities should be initiated right away, together with fire and rescue services.

In order to expedite rescue efforts, SDRF and DRF will remove any debris or damage that is blocking the flow of other CD services on the route.

To arrive at the different incident sites by 4.20 pm, the Civil Defence Services Police, Fire Brigade, Rescue/SDRF, Medical, Revenue, and local municipal authorities must take action.

Medical and health services should be prepared to handle first assistance, triage, and the transfer of injured people who have been rescued by fire and rescue personnel. Evacuation of casualties from destroyed structures

Transport services should be prepared to move people who have been evacuated from dangerous locations to designated safe havens, bunkers, or demilitarized areas.

GHMC, Revenue, Civil Supplies, and other local organizations will offer the public emergency assistance in the safe shelters.

Blackout procedures

During air attacks, blackout procedures are intended to restrict enemy aircraft visibility and lower the possibility of bombs.

Turning Off Lights: To avoid discovery, turn off building lights, streetlights, and lighted ads.

Covering Windows: To prevent light from escaping, homes and businesses utilize opaque materials.

Vehicle Light Restrictions: To improve visibility from the air, car headlights are covered or lowered.

Critical Infrastructure Camouflage: To prevent attacks, vital infrastructure such as communication towers and power plants is hidden.
