New Delhi According to people familiar with the situation, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will use this week’s official visit to the Netherlands, Denmark, and Germany to update strategic European partners on India’s zero tolerance policy for terrorism and tensions with Pakistan.

This will be Jaishankar’s first international trip since the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 civilian lives and Operation Sindoor, in which India’s military launched attacks on terrorist facilities in Pakistani-controlled areas, sparking four days of fierce fighting with drones, missiles, and long-range weapons.

During his official tour to the Netherlands, Denmark, and Germany from May 19 to 24, Jaishankar will meet with the leaders of the three nations to address the “entire gamut of bilateral relations and regional and global matters of mutual interest,” according to the foreign affairs ministry.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to visit three nations this month, including the Netherlands, but the trip was canceled due to the increased tensions with Pakistan.

With two-way commerce over $30 billion, Germany has become a significant strategic partner in Europe, while the Netherlands and Denmark are eager to collaborate with India on green transition projects.
