India Pakistan Tensions: As seen in the group photo issued on the occasion, the visiting team included Pakistan’s heads of services, General Asim Munir, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar.
Tensions between India and Pakistan: On Tuesday, April 6, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid a visit to the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) headquarters in Islamabad.
According to news agency PTI, which cited state-run Radio Pakistan, Sharif was joined by Defense Minister Khawaja Asif and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
The visiting team included the services leaders, as seen in a group photo issued on the occasion: Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir.
The image also included Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the military’s media spokesperson, and ISI Director General Lt Gen Muhammad Asim Malik, who was just named the nation’s national security adviser.
The high-level visit takes place about a week after Pakistan declared it anticipated Indian military action following a devastating incident in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, that killed 26 people, primarily tourists. The attackers’ “cross-border linkages” have been suggested by India. The assertion has been denied by Pakistan.

“The leadership was apprised of regional security developments and the evolving threat matrix, including conventional military options, hybrid warfare tactics, and terrorist proxies,” a press statement from the Pakistan Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) stated. The visit included a thorough briefing on the current security environment, with a focus on readiness for the conventional “threat” from India in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack.

Under complicated and changing circumstances, Prime Minister Sharif praised ISI’s vital role in defending national interests and facilitating well-informed national security decision-making by the India Pakistan Tensions.
