Hyderabad Gulzar House Fire: In a devastating incident early Sunday morning, a massive fire engulfed a multi-purpose building in Gulzar Houz, near Hyderabad’s iconic Charminar, resulting in the deaths of 17 individuals, including eight children. The fire originated in the Krishna Pearls jewelry store located on the ground floor of the building and rapidly spread to the upper residential floors. PM Modi Announces Ex-Gratia for Victims of Hyderabad Gulzar House Fire
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, stating, “Deeply anguished by the loss of lives due to a fire tragedy in Hyderabad, Telangana. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon.” He announced an ex-gratia payment of ₹2 lakh for the next of kin of each deceased and ₹50,000 for the injured from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy also conveyed his condolences and directed senior officials to ensure comprehensive rescue and relief operations. He assured that the government would extend all possible support to the affected families.
Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy visited the accident site and confirmed multiple fatalities. He stated, “The accident happened due to a short circuit, and many people have died.”
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his grief, saying, “Deeply saddened by the loss of innocent lives in the tragic fire at Gulzar House, Hyderabad. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. I pray for the swift recovery of the injured.”
