Congress deletes ‘Gayab’ post featuring headless Modi poster

The BJP attacked the Congress on Tuesday for sending signals to Pakistan through a social media post that was titled “Gayab” (missing) and was directed at Prime Minister Modi.

On Tuesday, hours after it was posted, the Congress removed a contentious X post that appeared to show Prime Minister Narendra Modi without his head. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticized the image as “Lashkar-e-Pakistan.”

Claiming that the Congress party’s social media post conveys to Pakistan that “the Congress party stands with Pakistan,” the BJP blasted the party on Tuesday for posting the term “Gayab” (missing) in reference to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

PM Modi’s absence from the recent all-party conference following the Pahalgam terror attack has drawn criticism from the Congress.

The BJP’s jab at “Lashkar-e-Pakistan”
BJP spokesman and national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia responded angrily, accusing the Congress of supporting Pakistan’s narrative and undermining the country’s integrity.

“In this terrorist act, they are sending signals to Pakistan that the Congress party supports Pakistan rather than their own country. The Congress party’s post is not innocent. The country’s prime minister is the subject of a malicious plot to undermine the integrity of our country.

Gaurav Bhatia continued his attack by calling the Congress the “Lashkar-e-Pakistan Congress,” stating, “It won’t be incorrect if we call them that since there is a national political party that remains among us. An picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was posted by the Congress’s social media account. Pakistan has received a clear word that Mir Jafar’s followers are in India. “Sar tan se juda” is now the guiding principle of the Lashkar-e-Pakistan Congress.

Gayab’ Jibe: Congress Slams PM Modi’s Absence from Pahalgam All-Party Meet

However, the Prime Minister was questioned by the Congress for “missing” the all-party meeting on the Pahalgam incident.

Congress MP Jairam Ramesh stated: “The Prime Minister traveled for Bihar to speak at a rally, but he returned on April 24 (the day of the conference), shortening his stay in Saudi Arabia. Does he lack the time or inclination to attend the all-party meeting, yet he has time to provide election speeches?

The Congress has already come under fire from the BJP for remarks made by a number of its leaders over the Pahalgam incident. Later, the Congress made it clear that these were the individual’s personal opinions rather than the party’s position.
