Cancelled Flights India: Today due to airport closures across northern, western, and central India, commercial flight operations were suspended until Saturday, May 10th, leading to significant air traffic disruption. Air travel has been severely disrupted by the airport closures; on Thursday, Indian carriers canceled 430 flights, or around 3% of all planned flights in the nation. More than 147 flights, or 17% of their daily schedule, were canceled by Pakistani airlines.
Global flight tracking website Flightradar24 said that there were mostly no commercial aircraft operating in the airspace above Pakistan and the western Indian corridor, which runs from Kashmir to Gujarat, on Thursday. As airlines avoided the sensitive area, it shared real-time flight path data and cancellation statistics, noting that “airspace over Pakistan and the western shoulder of India between Kashmir and Gujarat was free of civilian air traffic.”
Jammu, Leh, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Bathinda, Halwara, Pathankot, Bhuntar, Shimla, Gaggal, Dharamsala, Kishangarh, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Mundra, Rajkot, Porbandar, Kandla, Keshod, Bhuj, Gwalior, and Hindon are among the Indian airports that are impacted. The closure also includes airports that are mostly utilized for military charters.
In order to avoid the sensitive area, all airlines have started rerouting or canceling flights. Approximately 250 flights had already been canceled on Wednesday. INDIGO

Travelers were expressly instructed by the airline to verify the status of their aircraft before heading to the airport. Due to the limitations, IndiGo also said that flights into and out of Bikaner might see similar difficulties.
IndiGo said on X on Thursday, “As part of our ongoing efforts to support our customers and accommodate their changes to their travel plans, we are extending full waiver of change and cancellation fees for travel to/from Srinagar until 22nd May 2025, for bookings made on or before 22nd April 2025.”
AIR INDIA
In its own caution, Air India announced that, until 12 p.m. on May 7, it has canceled all flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot, pending more information from regulatory bodies. The airline also stated that due to airspace limitations, two foreign aircraft that were scheduled to arrive in Amritsar were being rerouted to Delhi. The airline’s low-cost subsidiary, Air India Express, also admitted that many flights in its network were impacted and advised passengers to make sure their contact details were up to date so they could get real-time alerts via its website.
SPICEJET
Similar worries were expressed by SpiceJet, which said that flights to and from Dharamshala, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar, and Amritsar will be canceled till further notice. The airline made clear that the airport shutdown would affect both arrivals and departures, as well as any resulting connecting flights. Travelers were asked to make appropriate travel plans and keep themselves updated through the airline’s official channels of communication.
AKASA AIR
In response to the worsening situation, Akasa Air also released a travel advice, however it did not specifically name the impacted routes. The airline advised customers to use its website and helplines to keep track of their reservations and stay informed.
