ATM cash glitch aside, in reaction to the terror assault in Pahalgam on April 22 that claimed the lives of 26 people, India began Operation Sindoor on May 7. Over 100 terrorists connected to Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen were killed by the Indian Armed Forces as part of the operation, which targeted terror infrastructure located deep within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistan responded to the strikes with attempted drone attacks and cross-border shelling. India retaliated by launching coordinated airstrikes that destroyed important military facilities at 11 Pakistani airbases. An agreement to end hostilities was declared by both parties on May 10.

Visitors to an ATM at the Anmol Hotel in Moinbagh were taken aback to see that the machine was giving out more money than they had entered.
According to reports, two locals entered Rs. 3,000, and to their astonishment, the machine returned Rs. 4,000. They received an SMS stating that Rs. 3,000 had been taken out of their account after double-checking the transaction history.
A couple other people who were at the ATM center gave it a try and were shocked to see that the machine was really distributing more than what was being entered for withdrawal.

People began hurrying to the ATM center and taking out cash as soon as they heard about it. One individual said that after entering Rs. 1500, the machine gave him Rs. 1800.
When a neighborhood homeowner saw what was occurring, they quickly alerted the police, who arrived and dispersed the mob. Later, the cops secured the ATM center and took down the shutter. They also told the bank personnel.
The cops were informed by the bank personnel that an excess amount was being issued since the system may have had some technical difficulties.
Later, the police put up a picket at the ATM center to keep people from congregating there. Later that night, bank representatives showed in and fixed the problem.
